The key is stiff, the handle needs lifting hard, the door has to be slammed, or the lock only works some of the time.
A dropped door often stops the lock lining up with the keeps. We check the hinges and alignment as well as the lock itself.

Many uPVC and composite doors use a multi-point lock: one mechanism that throws several locking points along the edge of the door. Lifting the handle engages them, and turning the key secures them. Wear or misalignment anywhere along that mechanism can stop it working.
